Qeshm Eco-Island Master Plan: A RECS-Piramoon Collaboration

Strategic Lead and Coordination (2015–2018)
During this intensive three-year initiative, I served as the Full-Time Representative of Piramoon Architects within the international consortium for the "Project for Formulation of Master Plan for Sustainable Development of Qeshm Free Area". This major project, funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), sought to establish a sustainable development roadmap for the island through 2035.

Piramoon’s Role in a Global Consortium
Acting as the primary bridge between Piramoon Architects and lead international firms RECS International Inc. and PADECO Co., Ltd., I (Maziar, as the president of firm) coordinated the integration of local architectural and environmental expertise into a large-scale master plan. My focus was ensuring that the "Eco-Island" vision was upheld, balancing industrial growth with the protection of the island’s unique natural assets and UNESCO Global Geopark.

Environmental Planning & Technical Integration
The planning scope was vast, covering sectors from sustainable tourism and fishery development to water resource management. As the environmental planner and coordinator, I oversaw the synchronization of cross-functional teams, ensuring that the project's sustainability goals were technically sound and adhered to both JICA standards and Piramoon’s commitment to ecological stewardship.

Project Documentation & Resources:

This role underscored the capacity of Piramoon Architects to lead within complex, multi-year international frameworks, delivering planning solutions that resonate at a global scale.
